Where these figures come from
The 10–200 KB photograph window NTA uses across its entrance examinations.
Why photographs get rejected for CUET UG
- Photograph not taken against a white or very light background
- 80% of the frame not occupied by the face and head
- Photograph older than the window stated in the information bulletin
- Spectacles with glare hiding the eyes
- File under 10 KB after compressing in a generic tool
Frequently asked questions
The size limit is generous — should I still compress?
You need to be inside the window, but there is no benefit in sitting near the bottom of it. This tool uses the largest resolution the 200 KB ceiling allows, which gives a noticeably sharper photograph than one squeezed to 15 KB.
Does this tool upload my photo anywhere?
No. Cropping, resizing and compression all run inside your browser using the Canvas API. The image never leaves your device — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works.
Need your signature too?
Most portals ask for a signature in the same session, with a different size limit from the photograph.
